Arthur Goju Karate-do was founded in 1997 by Sensei Keith Harris. As a CNGK affiliate dojo, a proven martial arts curriculum is offered to adults and children. Respect for others is only one facet of how karate training can build positive life habits. Students can improve physical fitness, increase mental focus a nd strengthen self-confidence while learning valuable self-defense skill
The head instructor of the Arthur Karate Dojo is Sensei Keith Harris, a 4th degree black belt. He began his training in 1991 at the Elora Gorge Karate Dojo under the guidance of Kyoshi J Purdy. He received his Shodan (first degree black belt) in December 1996. In September 1997, Sensei Harris opened a dojo in Arthur, Ontario to promote the study of Goju Karate.
Sensei Keith has had the privilege to travel to Okinawa, Japan to study Goju Karate with Meitatsu Yagi, 10th degree black belt, and continues to receive guidance from the head of Canadian Naha-te Goju Karate, Kyoshi J Purdy. Sensei Keith has 7 students who have attained the black belt level and he continues to actively participate in CNGK events.
